Introducing Merrilee Zellner, Guesthouse Owner and General Manager

I am originally from Seattle, Washington. After many years of living in various parts of the east coast of the USA and overseas, I settled in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island.
I have traveled solo worldwide throughout most of my adult life, usually staying in budget accommmodations. I welcome you to enjoy reading some of the blogs I have written about these adventures.

While managing the HI Boston Hostel in Massachusetts in the early '90's, I frequently visited the nearby resort town of Newport, Rhode Island, and fell in love with it. The high price of accommodations and the wonderful summer activities and festivals that Newport offers, made me realize that the beautiful City-by-the sea could use more budget accommodations. In 2002 I purchased the historic William Gyles House in downtown Newport and the William Gyles Guesthouse was born.
