Newport is situated on an island midway between New York City, Boston and Cape Cod. Newport is accessible by car or bus. There is frequent bus service between Providence, Rhode Island, and Newport on RIPTA for $2. An outdoor Farmer's Market is every Wednesday during the summertime in Newport on Memorial Drive between downtown Newport and Easton's Beach (First Beach). It is along the road in a shady park area.
